Our repertoire spans many decades and pays tribute to some of the best Swing Bands along the way. From Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey and Benny Goodman through to the great Frank Sinatra, this musical journey still excites audiences today as much as it ever did.

Our vocal show dips heavily into Frank’s songbook to help you relive some of the best music of the swing era. Known and loved by every generation, what better way to make this an evening your guests will never forget than by finishing off with New York, New York performed live by a talented singer backed by a powerful seventeen-piece big band.

Glenn Miller



The Glenn Miller Orchestra was the most popular band of the 40’s and is synonymous with great dancing music. Throughout the Second World War, Glenn Miller’s brand of swing was an inspirational soundtrack in a time of great need. His music has withstood the test of time - when you hear those opening saxes from In The Mood, you know that dancing is on the way...

Count Basie Orchestra



The great Count Basie Orchestra of the 50’s and 60’s was the epitomy of class and style and remains a major inspiration for the State 51 Swing Orchestra. Possibly the greatest exponent of the Big Band style, his legacy is clean and simple music that defines the word swing. Basie’s collaborations with Sinatra are amongst the finest of Frank’s immense body of work.
